I became vegan in the summer of 2008 at the ripe old age of 46, and consider it the most important personal and political decision I've made to date. Please join me.
And if you want to know more about me, just ask.
Okay, maybe that last sentence wasn't quite fair. So, what can I tell you? I'm female, live in Ontario Canada, my Chinese sign is Tiger, astrological sign is Scorpio (careful!), Myers-Briggs type is INFJ, I love to read, write, laugh, bike, oh wait, this is starting to sound more like a dating profile, snort.
Let me get back on track. This blog is where I explore my thoughts on veganism and activism and my posts range in tone from friendly, snarky, hopeful and despairing, sometimes all in one post. I'm lucky to have readers who are kind and thoughtful and super smart, and leave comments that really add to whatever I write. I thank them, and invite you to join them.
Lastly, I'm an abolitionist in theory and ideals, but a pragmatist in approach. This means, for example, that I welcome any and all steps to animal use reduction, and don't necessarily oppose all welfare reforms. This stance undoubtedly earns me the label "new welfarist" by some, but whatever. Because as far as I can tell, endlessly repeating the mantra the world is vegan if you want it so far has not made it so, double snort. ;)
