Hello dear reader, it's been a while I know. About 6 months or so?
After my last post in November my Mom started to decline even more, and at the end of February passed away at the ripe old age of 95. Her family was both saddened AND relieved as she was suffering miserably. Obviously it's taken a while to adjust.
(If interested, I first wrote about her dementia diagnosis and the earlier stage of the caregiving journey back in 2018, and an update in the first half of this post in 2022. The best ONE word to describe the entire process? Heartbreaking.)
And while I'm not making any promises to blog on a regular basis, I do hope to do so at least sporadically. I'll be following up on my last post soon because tomorrow is Pride month's halfway point, and boy has there been a backlash!
Also, if even Canadian wildfire smoke turning New York City's skyline orange doesn't convince climate-change deniers and global-warming-is-a-hoax conspiracy theorists, what will?
